Founders & Contributors:

Culture & Capitalism is currently run by Rebecca Prentice, Luise Durstewitz, Renata Carvalho and Laurie May-Miller. Rebecca is a Reader in Anthropology and International Development at the University of Sussex, where she also is academic convenor of the Masters programmes in Anthropology. Her research focuses on the anthropology of work, specifically garment workers in the global economy. Luise graduated from Sussex in 2019 with an MA in Anthropology of Development and Social Transformation. Her research interests include materiality, affect and social change. Renata is a 3rd year Anthropology with Spanish BA student with a special interest in social justice and sustainable futures. Laurie is currently taking a year out of an Anthropology BA; their areas of interest are gender, abolition and forced migration.

The blog was created in 2016 by Masters students (Sandy Bonnington, Andy Chapman, Gemma Harvey, and Hanna Malka) and faculty (Rebecca Prentice and Dinah Rajak) in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Sussex in Brighton, UK.
