Let Our Profs Be Profs!

Sussex Anthropologist Jon Mitchell joins a roundup of anthropologists reflecting on the ‘neoliberal academy’ in his recent essay, ‘Let Our Profs Be Profs’ at the Anuac journal.

This special issue brings together essays by anthropologists working in an array of universities in Europe, North America, and the Pacific to comment on how institutional changes in higher education affect the study and practice of anthropology. Mitchell’s contribution urges us to consider the effects of increasing competition and the directive that academics embrace an ‘entrepreneurial’ subjectivity.

The table of contents for this issue—all of which is open-source—can be found here.
